2013 Annual Conference General Session Talks
"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
As we mark 30 years as a ministry, we’ve observed our society become more secularized. Our mission hasn’t changed. The call today is to be bolder, brighter lights equipped to face these new challenges.
Our 2013 Annual Conference was filled with insights and first-hand witnesses of the life of Christ being lived and expressed in the 21st century. We discovered how to impact our culture, communities, companies, churches and families with the vibrant life of Christ.

"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven."
Steve welcomes everyone to our 30th Annual Christians in Commerce Conference.
""Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him. 'We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.' 'Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?' Nathanael asked, 'Come and see', said Philip." (John 1: 44-46)
Terry Cassell encourages those attending the Annual Conference that this is a time for each of us to personally reflect on what the Lord is asking of us and calling us to. He starts with some thoughts and words based off the events in the gospel.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)
The story of God's creating the world continues through the incarnation in each of us through the power of the Holy Spirit. How do we fit into the story?
"Iron is sharpened by iron; one person sharpens another.“ (Proverbs 27:17)
Josh Tesoriero talks about the influence and affect CIC has had in his life due to his saying "Yes" to the Lord and being surrounded by men who are truly men of God in every aspect. Men of God who both set an example and are present to help others along truly have and will continue to have positive affects on young people's lives.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Theresee Rosenthal talks about how the Lord has been challenging her to step outside her comfort zone to build his kingdom in a new environment.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
Stieg Strand shares a brief testimonial of what CIC has done for him personally and for friends he has invited. It is like encouragement multiplied when you invite a person to become a part of CIC, and then see Christ move through the men and ministry in the local chapter; to see how they (and their marriages and families) have been restored, healed, and challenged to do everything as though they were working for the Lord. Steig states, "Being at the Convention gave me the energy, the equipment, and the knowledge to glorify Christ in the workplace by making the daily decision to BE Christ to those around me."
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Evangelism is an act of obedience. We should feel natural when talking about God because we are talking about beauty, hope, love, and everything else around us.
"Paul told Timothy: 'But you, Timothy, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist.'" (2 Timothy 4:5)
Jesus was relational and trained his disciples by bringing them into a circle of relationships. He told stories, he invited; we must do so as well. Jesus empowers us (disciples) to proclaim the gospel despite our weaknesses.
