2014 Annual Conference Workshop Presentations

"and that life was the light of all mankind" John 1:4
Our 2014 Annual Conference was filled with insights and first-hand witnesses of the life of Christ and 'Live the Life' with this new wave of the Spirit and evangelization sweeping across our land! We discovered how to impact our culture, communities, companies, churches and families with the vibrant life of Christ. The Annual Conference Workshops addressed:
- Dignity of the Work & Dignity of the Worker
- What is God Calling Me to Do?
- Discipleship & Growth in Holiness
- 21st Century Evangelism
Every day, millions of people go to work without seeing the slightest connection between what they do all day, and what they think GOD wants done in the world. The time allocation of many consists of something similar to the following: 60% work, 30% family and 10% personal/spiritual. How many churches speak to the 30%? (Most), to the 10%? (Most), to the 60%? (Very few)? A big gap exists between how we spend our time and what our spiritual teachings address. This is a gap God didn’t intend. The mission of this specific call is for CIC to help close this gap.
This workshop is intended to equip us with new ideas about sharing the Lord in our workplace, and with people of all generations. Today’s workplace employs three and sometimes four generations. Too often we allow what differentiates us to divide us, and keep us from effectively engaging and evangelizing the next generation. In this interactive breakout session Millennial strategist and author Gabrielle Jackson will join CIC’s Greg Aitkens and Jon Cassady in presenting the challenges and opportunities breaking through generational barriers and connecting with today’s twenty - somethings. Whether you are a parent, manager, Millennial or ministry leader, you will gain practical insights and tips for reaching a generation seeking meaning relationships with you.
There is no higher calling than being a disciple of Christ and growing in His holiness…..Being a disciple is learning to put on Christ as the Holy Spirit teaches His truth, understanding and Christ in us, the hope of glory. He brings through His disciples renewed vision, ordered priorities and a new way of life that each of us needs to bring back to our CIC Chapters. Discipleship doesn’t mean we have reached perfection…. not even Paul claimed to have ever reached that level. But it does mean yielding to Him where we live to reflect him in everything we do.
For those of you who actually used a rotary telephone or just remember seeing one, this workshop is for you. Smart phone users too! This workshop is intended to highlight the unchangeable principles of evangelization with the ever changing culture of the 21st Century. In other words, Evangelizing the Culture through the Culture. Come hear how!
