One thing that has been ringing true in my life in Christ, especially over the last few months, is to be faithful as Christ compels us, and let the Holy Spirit take care of the results...
In 2009, our family traveled to Lee’s Summit, Missouri to celebrate the 100th birthday of my wife’s mother, Mary Louise... Although her life in recent years was confined to an assisted living home where she and about 40 other residents resided, she had not forgotten the words of Jesus in the Great Commission in terms of reaching out to people and inviting them to church.
A few years ago, my dear father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer. My first thought was to pray over him. My in-laws are devout Christians but I thought they might be uncomfortable with my praying over him, so I didn’t ask.
