Christ Alive! | Christian Testimonies, Stories and Reflections

The kingdom of God is breaking out right in our midst, in our workplaces. You won’t hear about it on the evening network news. You won’t read about it in your local newspaper. But you will hear about it from members of Christians in Commerce. Here are just a few of the stories from the front lines of the workplace.

Christians in Commerce members share their workplace stories, reflections and testimonies of being Christ in the Workplace. Select a category to display abstracts from our ChristAlive Archives.

As these events unfold, particularly during the many challenging days, I find myself expectantly asking the Lord to reveal what he has in store for us... These amazing events have once again given us the confidence to realize that God always has greater wisdom and whatever happens will be for his glory.
Is the written Word of God a lie or the real truth? Before I began courting Jesus, I believed that some of scripture made sense, but for the most part, the rest was far-fetched. Now, I know it to be very true.
As Christians, we are called to deal directly with our brothers and sisters when offended. Recently, I was in a group meeting with 15 individuals. A facilitator brought to question several decisions I had made without attributing them to me. From my perspective, the topic of discussion became abundantly clear — they would be discussing me.

That “word” started a revolution in my life.
We can only imagine the reaction of Mary and Joseph to having some shepherds, complete strangers, visit them and share a story that confirmed what they, too, had been told by an angel: that the son born to Mary was the son of God.

God knows the condition of our hearts when we kneel before him to admit our shortcomings.
As I was searching for a job at the time, my meals consisted mainly of items that had been stuffed in the back of my freezer and pantry and care packages offered by friends. My “to do” list had over 40 items on it, none of them festive, and that list was growing daily. Hosting a Christmas party was the last thing on my mind.
In his book “Suffering of Love” Regis Martin recounts a story that is very appropriate for the Advent season (Ignatius Press 2006, pp 124-125). It’s from “The Works of Oscar Wilde” and is called “The Selfish Giant”...
