Meet the Christians in Commerce Board of Directors

CIC's culture of integrity starts with the CIC Board of Directors, focusing on areas that are important to our members and our mission of being Christ in the workplace.

Wesley Farrow- President - Minneapolis - South Men's Chapter

Wes is the current President of Christians in Commerce (CIC). Wes has an extensive background in education, public affairs, and non-profit strategic planning and board governance. In his own words, he is “a practitioner of theology, prayer, curiosity, and compassion.”
Wes has held numerous leadership roles on the boards of non-profit organizations and has been deeply involved in supporting local communities, working with educational organizations, coaching incarcerated men to improve their lives, and working for human rights in Northern Uganda.

Wes completed his Master of Divinity coursework at Northwestern Theological Seminary and is in process of obtaining his Doctor of Philosophy in Ministry. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan and a special education teaching credential from California State Dominguez Hills.

Rich Preuss - Chairman of the Board - South Bend/Elkhart Men's Chapter

Rich is a financial advisor and an owner of the Healy Group, a full service financial and risk management firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a master’s degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame. He is serving on the boards of both the Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Ft. Wayne/South Bend and the LaSalle Company, and is a past president of the South Bend/Elkhart Chapter of Christians in Commerce.  He has served in the past on the boards of the People of Praise, Trinity School at Greenlawn and the Women’s Care Center. Dan Kuplic - Treasurer - Minneapolis-South Men's Chapter

Dan lives in Minnesota and owns a franchise of Ameriprise, a Financial Planning firm in Edina, MN, which he started 15 years ago. He also owns and operates a payroll and benefits company. Dan's interest in Christians in Commerce is based on his desire to see the kingdom of God expand in all aspects of life. He sees business as a means of participating in the work of the Lord. Dan and his wife Theresa have six children together. He can be reached at

Art Klaum - Secretary 

Art is a process improvement leader with Avnet, Inc., a distributor of electronic components and technology solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and has held positions in process engineering as well as operations, technical, and project management. He is a past Volunteer Coordinator for Paz de Cristo, an interfaith Community Center that helps to serve some of the needs of the economically challenged brothers and sisters in Mesa, AZ. Art has held several leadership positions in Christians in Commerce in the Greater Phoenix Area as well as having led several workshops over the past years at CIC annual conferences. He also helped launch the college Campus Club at Arizona State University (ASU). He has been married to Geraldine since 1983 and they have four children. Steve Becker - Minneapolis-South Men's Chapter

Steve has been a member of the Christians in Commerce Board of Directors since the early days of the organization. Currently retired, he has held key positions at several advertising agencies, founded a business in strategy and brand development and finished his career in sales and marketing for a national transportation company. Steve has been married to Carolyn since 1967 and has four adult children. He has served in leadership positions in the People of Praise and the board of a national foundation supporting Christian ministries. Steve can be reached at

Luke Cahill - Minneapolis-South Men's Chapter

Luke Cahill has been active in CIC since 2016. He was recruited by Steve Becker to lead a pro-bono research project to help CIC better understand the next generation and was inspired to stay involved. By his own admission his participation has already had a life-changing impact on him. He is the Managing Principal of a market research company, REAL Insight. His company fields custom research projects for Fortune 500 clients, including General Mills, Pepsico, and Johnson & Johnson. 

Luke received his bachelor’s in business from the University of Minnesota-Morris and MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. In addition to his work with CIC, he volunteers as a business mentor to seventh graders in a low income school in Minneapolis.

Vanessa Cooreman Smith - South Bend/Elkhart-Women's Chapter

Vanessa Cooreman Smith, a native of South Bend, IN, has pursued life as an entrepreneur since graduating from St. Mary’s College in 2004.  From 2008 to 2016 she owned and operated Flourish Boutique, a women’s clothing store. Today, she and her husband, Steve, own several local businesses including Irish Realty and Designed to Flourish, where Vanessa enjoys working as an interior designer. Of their business ventures, she says, “We work to help families buy or sell property in our town, and my passion is to make them more beautiful and inspiring places to call home.”

CIC has been an integral part of her family’s story since the 2009 recession. The South Bend Chapter has fostered and benefited from numerous fruits of the Spirit through a number of supportive relationships and business mentors, including inspiring examples of brothers and sisters in Christ.

“I felt Jesus calling me to plug into this life-changing ministry at the Annual Conference,” said Vanessa. “I am inspired to see WorkLight come alive and to help men and women in numerous professions and communities live out their careers with excellence and in Christ, change lives for the better.” She is excited to bring her energy and passion to the Christians in Commerce board.

Dave Mazanowski - Indianapolis Challenge Group

Dave Mazanowski started his first business while a student at Ball State University. He later cofounded Mainscape Inc., a commercial landscape maintenance firm that operates in 15 states. His vision: “How would God run a company?”

“The opportunity to be on the CIC board is a great gift,” says Dave. “I am especially excited about WorkLight and the future of the movement of the Holy Spirit via small groups. Challenge groups inspire members to be led daily by God and to grow in authentic Christian friendships, which is key. CIC has the foundation, talent and vision to make this movement work. I am honored and will give it my energy and passion.”

Jennifer Frankenberg - Orange County-Women's Chapter 

Jennifer Frankenberg first heard about Christians in Commerce through a fellow parishioner. After connecting with several CIC members, she felt a calling to bring a women’s chapter to her area and in 2015, founded the Orange County Women’s Chapter in California. Jennifer has spoken at several CIC Annual Conferences and is enthusiastic about supporting and strengthening the organization.

Jennifer graduated with a bachelor’s in marketing and international business and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently a Vice President at TriVista, a global management consulting firm, working with private equity on middle market transactions. With 20 years of experience in the food industry, she works with her clients primarily on food company acquisitions, operational improvements, and risk mitigation.

Jennifer and her husband of almost 20 years, Rich, live in Mission Viejo, CA with their son, Connor. When not working for TriVista or on CIC, Jennifer supports Connor is his Boy Scouts of America activities as he works towards his Eagle rank.   Jennifer can be reached at
